Guide The
Founders Who
Build Tomorrow.
Behind every validated venture is someone who asked the uncomfortable question early. We're building a network of mentors and investors who want to be that person for India's first-time founders.
( we don't need your money or your logo. we need your honest questions. )
Mentors · honest questions, early
Founders · learning by building
Why This Exists
Founders don't need more cheerleaders. They need candid voices.
Most first-time founders in India have plenty of encouragement and very few people who will tell them the truth. Everyone wants them to succeed. Almost nobody is paid, or permitted, to say "this assumption is wrong."
That's the gap mentors and investors can close inside the studio. You bring pattern recognition, operator experience and capital discipline. We bring founders who have agreed to be challenged, and the evidence to make that challenge productive.
Unlike a demo-day relationship, this is ongoing. You see ventures while they are still soft, while changing direction is still cheap.
- Access founders before they've burned capital on the wrong build
- Work with ventures that already have validation evidence, not just decks
- Influence decisions at the stage where your input matters most
- Engage at whatever depth your time actually allows
Two Ways To Engage
Ment or invest.
Both change outcomes.
Mentor
Share what you know with founders while it still changes decisions. Mentorship inside the studio is structured, time-boxed and tied to real venture questions, not open-ended coffee chats.
What it involves
- Domain expertise shared at specific decision points
- Reviewing assumptions, evidence and product direction
- Pressure-testing a founder's reasoning before they build
- Occasional founder conversations and sprint reviews
- Honest feedback, including "this should stop"
Typically a few hours a month, agreed in advance.
Currently unpaid. We're explicit about that before you commit.
Investor
Back ventures that have already earned their evidence. We don't present polished decks. We present what was tested, what failed, and what the next rupee would specifically buy.
What it involves
- Early sight of ventures that have completed validation
- Access to validation evidence alongside the pitch
- Technical and product diligence input
- Pre-seed and seed conversations when founders are ready
- Mentoring the ventures you choose to back
We don't guarantee funding, returns, or investor introductions. Ever.
Angel investors, syndicates, micro-funds and family offices aligned with early-stage India.
( the best mentors are the ones founders are slightly afraid to disappoint. )
Who We Work With
The people who make founders better.
Operators & Domain Experts
You've built in the industry these founders are entering. You know which problems are real and which are fashionable.
- Product & engineering leaders
- Sales, marketing and GTM operators
- Industry specialists in health, fintech, D2C and logistics
- Founders who've exited or shut down well
Angel Investors & Syndicates
You back early teams and you'd rather see evidence than a market-size slide. You're patient with pre-seed timelines.
- Angel investors active in Indian pre-seed
- Angel networks and syndicates
- Micro-funds and family offices
- Operators who invest alongside advising
Researchers & Academics
You bring rigour to problems that founders usually solve with intuition. You're comfortable saying the data doesn't support the thesis.
- University faculty and research leads
- Market and policy researchers
- Behavioural and social scientists
- Technical specialists in deep domains
Advisory Professionals
You help founders avoid the mistakes that don't show up until it's expensive. Legal, financial, structural and compliance.
- Startup lawyers and company secretaries
- Chartered accountants and finance advisors
- Compliance and regulatory specialists
- HR and talent advisors
Ecosystem Builders
You run the incubators, cells and networks where these founders already are. You want build support, not another workshop.
- Incubator and accelerator teams
- E-cell coordinators and faculty
- Community and founder-network leads
- Government ecosystem programmes
Studio Fellows & Alumni
People who've been inside the studio's process and understand why the uncomfortable question is the useful one.
- Current and past Venture Fellows
- Founders who've completed a sprint
- Former co-build collaborators
- Anyone who's made a build-or-kill call with us
How Engagement Works
Structured, time-boxed,
and honest about capacity.
Conversation
Tell us your domain, your experience and how much time you genuinely have. We'd rather scope small than overcommit you.
Match
We introduce you only to founders where your expertise changes the decision. No mass matching, no awkward fit.
Contribute
Structured sessions at defined points: assumption reviews, sprint checkpoints, evidence reviews, or investor conversations.
Engagement based on real availability
What you review, not what you're told
Terms agreed before anything begins
Mentorship is currently unpaid
Honesty Check
What this is not.
- Not a paid mentorship programme. Mentorship is currently unpaid.
- Not a guarantee that any venture will succeed or return capital.
- Not a guaranteed deal-flow pipeline for your fund.
- Not a title or a logo placement for your CV.
- Not a commitment without something in writing.
Express Interest
Mentor or invest
with BuildWithMe.
Tell us what you know, what you'd want to be involved in, and how much time you actually have. We'll be straight with you about whether there's a genuine fit.
People who'd rather prevent a bad decision than fund one.
Most engagements begin with a single review or one founder conversation.
Anything involving capital is documented before it begins.
Mentorship starts with one honest conversation
Interest
Received.
Thank you for offering your time and expertise. We'll review your details and get back to you if there's a genuine fit with the founders we're building with.
The right question
at the right time is
worth more than capital.
If you believe that too, we should talk.
